When i got my car ive been getting 17 -16L/100kms

Then i had a service changing spark plugs and replaced oxy sensor which gave me 14L/100kms

NOW WEIRDLY

Just now when i filled up i got 12L/100kms and thats with me having a heavy foot ever so often...
Dont know why this is....

The guy that changed my muffler says there was a hole in one of my pipes in the exhaust which he replaced. dont think that would have any effect on fuel economy.... Dont know how even changing an exhaust system would even change fuel economy... Ive only got a straight through and a resonator...

a hole in the exhuast can cause higher fuel usage so fixing that could have helped your usage.

RightNow?

I had an exhaust leak, after getting it fixed i found my consumption dropped about 1.5-2L per 100km as well.
Perhaps something to do with back pressure or something.
All I know is anything that lowers fuel consumption makes me happy :D

chances are if you had the hole it could have been a weak spot that bustsed when say a muffler or resonator collapsed internally, partially blocking the exhuast flow. this will INCREASE consumption. You are now getting more stanrdard comsumption, which to you is a DECREASE in fuel usage but in reality, back to where it should be. None the less its nice when you spend money on a car that it actually does something. Doesnt always happen
