Good evening gentlemen.
I've been driving Diamantes since 1995 - '93 ES, '97 LS, and now my beautiful 2003 vrx. After my husband fixed the heater core (without having to dismantle half of the car and without having to discharge A/C ;-) ), now we have a slight air vent issue and it's hot here in the Mid-South.
The problem looks the same as in this thread http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85091&highlight=vent - I cannot select which way the air will blow in the dash since the little rod that allows the change keeps slipping off the guide (right now the air is permanently blowing on the windshield).
In the thread above Mr. MadMagna said to put the rod back in the guide but he did not say what to do if it keeps falling out. I did some research on the 'net and the TSB 04-55-002 seems to show how to fix the problem by pinning the levers together. My husband is very handy and will do it if he can see how (right now he is afraid to try anything since these parts seem so flimsy/fragile). I can pay for access to the TSB but I would like to be sure first if it really addresses my issue. Or maybe somebody can just tell me how to permanently fix it? Pictures could help, too ;-)
BTW, this also happened on my son's 2002 vrx after the heater core replacement.
Sorry about the long-winded post. Help greatly appreciated.
