Just recleaned my air filter as checked it this morning after putting it in and oil was leaking stupid me.

Anyway just started car this morning and it started then stalled started straight away after and again when i drove out to shops started it put in reverse almost immediately then stalled only did once started fine after. Any thoughts major problem or just being paranoid.

Also can i wash out my airbox as the oil from the filter is pooled at the bottem gonna do it rite this time.

You could have oiled up your MAF sensor, take it out & give it a clean, there is a special spray you can buy from autobarn, id say there is a high chance this happened. Also your throttle body will need cleaning as well. You gotta be careful, when oiling the filter, as a guide i do 3 light coats MAX, as long as one side is slightly pink its good to go.

Yes its a good idea to clean the air box as well, rinse it well, clean it once the maf sensor is out, that way you can rinse thoroughly

My car had problems idling etc after removing and re-installing the airbox etc. I'd forgotten to put the maf plug back on :belt:

Just looked in to airbox there is still a bit of oil at bottom of filter i guess naturally filtering down didnt drip after letting sit outside for over an hour uprite should it be ok? i guess ill have to clean the MAF anyway. I think these filters are more hassle then there worth?

Well they arent too bad, its just you really should have asked someone how to re oil one, as a giude pne spray can should last you about 4 times.

Again why i hate oiled filters. Make sure you clean your maf. Throw out that air restricting waste of money and get a good quality paper filter

Your issue may be a dirty throttle plate as well
