hey all just chasing some advice please, I have just put my engine back together but it has a misfire and dont like idoling, I have played with cam timing and ditributor timing fitted new plugs and checked leads and they are good.
When i first put engine together and wound it over for first time it was producing crazys arcs from coil with and without coil lead on, it has now stopped the crazy arcs but dont know weather it has damaged the coil or not.
is there anyway of checking coil, or can anybody think of anything else I can check??????
Any help and advice would be great thanks

not sure about coil, any arcs can cause damage to components if your unlucky.

rule 1 of working with electrics, the battery is the first and last thing to dc/ connect and always double check your work before connecting it. i would limit the driving you do untill it is fixed however

as for coil just pull it off and take it to a auto elec

Thanks mate I discovered coil is fine and dizzy timing was out buy a tooth or two, I had lined Rotor up with number 1 contact in dizzy instead of indent I found on underside of dizzy housing which solved my problem but have replaced leads/Rotor and plugs to be safe and now Mighty Verada is running fine again and going for road worthy on Friday
But thanks again
