Im slowly moving through my build now things are a little better on track at home.

I have removed the chrome strip whch runs over the top of the doors on the root line on my 2g verada. Im now looking at what i can use to fit on the underside of the remaining gutter which slightly overhangs the top of the door (prevent rain from getting in)

It is going to need ot be about 3-5mm thick. Is it ok to use fibreglass for this? after the body work is done its off to be painted. If i can get a pic up ill show in more detail but im just pondering whether going this thick is ok? if it cracks ill cry. \

because of the shape using steel flat is probably out.

dont know why u would remove and flatten it out, why not just paint it some fangdangle colour

Fiberglass expands and contracts differently with heat compared to metal, quite likely if you blend the two it will crack. There _might_ be some kind of special bog that will be ok for 5mm thickness, but most say not to be used in thick layers incase of cracking.

that is what i am worried about. As for why im doing it; its called modification ill have to get some pics up to describe better what im trying to achieve.

ive ruled out filling the entire area with weld as its about 1 inch deep and up to 5mm thick in places and runs the entire length of the cabin. Also playing around with the idea of blacking out the rear quarter windows, or deleting them altogether.

The heat from welding will probably also warp the metal.
