Hello, i was just wondering what would cause a vibration between 40kph and 75kph at cruising speeds (rpm) its affected by if you accelerate or decelerate the vibration goes away, it wouldn't be the balancing of the wheels due to it not staying all the time
Thanks

I had a similar issue but at higher speeds - 80 - 100kmh. For me the fix was a replacement of the steering knuckle which included the wheel bearing assy. however given yours is AWD I can't say for certain that fix will work for you too given that all wheels are driven and not just the front two.
No doubt being able to pinpoint the area where the noise is coming from will help to diagnose and solve the problem.
My car has just developed something like this - it happens at about 1300rpm in any gear, but is most noticeabe in my work or shopping centre car parks in 1st & 2nd gear.
I believe the V6 has a harmonic balancer - could it be something like this causing an issue?
Mine is definitely engine speed related and not road speed. It is also due for a service...

Wheel balance issues sometimes only show up at certain speeds - one I recall only showed up at 110kmh...

Since I had my extractors and exhaust fitted, I've had a small vibration evident only during moderate acceleration about 1800-2050 rpm. I'm nearly certain that its a resonant effect in the exhaust system. The rear vision mirror buzzes, as does the bezel around the headunit... I've been in other, stock, cars with much worse vibrations so I've put up with it.

I'd be checking the universal joints on the tailshaft.

I just sorted vibration like this on a TS. It required new ball joints at 240,000 km. It could also be wheel balance, tie rods (ball joint under the boot), tie rod ends, worn wheel bearings. It was a bugger to isolate, I got desperate enough to start replacing all the bits it could be. lol
Ball joints are hard to test, they may have no play evident, startup turning torque with the ball joint pulled from the steering knuckle with a torque wrench on the ball joint nut is the only accurate test.
Got the front discs skimmed too, fixed a shudder under braking.

could the vibration be caused by the gearbox itself as well because if i manually shift from 5th to 4th the vibration goes away

My money is still on the uni joints. By accelerating or changing gear you're changing the load on them, however you'd expect the vibration to be worse when decelerating so maybe not.

i just put a new transmission in my awd and ive started to get this around 50-80km. it will shake a bit then i let go of the gas and it stops. i thought it may have been the transmission since its second hand but its only done 90,000ks.

The tiptronic shifter is basically used to activate microswitches which signal the ECU. If you remove enough of the console to look at the shifter mechanism, there are separate microswitches for up and down shifts. If upshifts are working but downshifts aren't (at sensible speeds for the shift desired) then the downshift microswitch has failed or the harness wiring for the downshift is broken somewhere.

update the guy at the auto shop told me the car is drop too low and this result in straining the shaft causing the car to vibrate. and possibly destroying the gearbox.
when car is drop too!!! low it puts the shafts on a angle straining them and eating out the bearings.

Mine was done very cheaply and isn't really a good guide as to what it will cost you - e.g. mates rates.
I'd expect to pay at least $150 + labour for a steering knuckle and fitment.

What a total load of bull shit, your "mechanic" must have some exotic drugs there
I have seen these on SL springs, I do not recommend them but not because of the drive shafts
On Lows, there is no issue, if your shafts were vibrating on the lows it is because one or both of them is faulty and needs to be either reconditioned (as AWD inner joints are not avail after market) or you need to get new shafts. Is poss the shafts were causing this BUT if the lowering was done correctly the height has SFA to do with this issue

New update on this issue the problem was to do with the DIFFERENTIAL they were shattered, gear box was replaced since then,
Vibration gone.
