Hey guys fitting my new wheels on my TL VRX tomorrow and i want to know a few things firstly where do i position the jack to get the full effect and not damage anything? i remember watching another mate do his on the front side but want to know what im looking for as to where i position it on the front? and when i brought the wheels home today the guy i bought them off didn't give me the wheel nuts and my stock ones won't fit he will be sending them as soon as he can but wanted to know if i can just pick the wheel nuts from a wreckers or some wheel store to save time? the wheels are a 18x8 Advanti Colt... as this is my first time using a jack on my VRX i want to get it right cheers Chris.

a shop like autobarn or supercheap should have 10 differant types of nuts to pick from, or a tyre place if you didnt want to wait.

look under your car you should see the mounting points, if you have a manual just read it i used to have a lisho link to download the service manuals but dont have it anymore, if you need it im sure someone can post it up

There are 2 long metal rails that run under the side of the car, these protrude out abit more at the front and rear and have some markings on them.

Those 4 points are where you jack the car up from.

don't forget safety: don't ever work under a car held up by jacks!!! People die this way. Get jack stands, they're cheap. Of course if you're just changing wheels, OK, but don't let any part of your body get under that car while it's up.

Better safe than sorry.

i bought a max ellery manual for my magna, thay are from supercheap, and they are $40 pretty deer for a book, but well worth it and they tell you EVERYTHING! for example. 'JACKING POINTS' and they say on the rear cover they dismantle near new cars to make these books and they are spot on with where everything is, including wiring.. while your there getting this, get car stands :) but only if u want to.

If you're only using the jack that came with your car, there a 4 separate lifting points and you can only do one wheel at a time (if you're using a trolley jack it's a bit different). The lifting points for the front end are just behind the front wheels - one on the driver's side and another on the passenger side. The lifting points for the rear end are just in front of the rear wheel s - again, one on the driver's side and another on the passenger side. There's a diagrams in the owners manual, and might even be a sticker on the jack or on the door sill?
