G'day all,

This is probably a really simple one to answer, how do you get the interior lights in the 380 to go into "Door" mode, ie automatically turn on and off when the doors are opened / closed? I for the life of me cant figure it out and it is doing my head in. I have checked the manual, it has sections in there on the interor lights and how they should go on and off when in "Door" mode, but it doesnt say how to put them into "Door" mode. All of my interior lights, (the dome light above the centre console and the two map lights at the front) either turn on or off when you depress them. If they are turned on, they stay on. If they are turned off, they stay off... there doesnt seem to be any other switch or sequence to turning them on and off that triggers "Door" mode...

As I said it is doing my head in, and there is probably a really simple answer. Any help would be appreciated!

I couldn't figure out how to turn them on manually - was looking for a switch everywhere, including in the glovebox, where I found the boot release!. Then the missus gets in the car, and pushes the light in and on it goes! Follow VRX380s advice for lighting - instructions are in the manual under the "customisation" heading.

One thing I find annoying is that you can't just turn them off fullstop, when you have the door open or have I been missing something for the last 4 years? lol

Dont know if you can turn them off full stop, but there is certainly a setting in the menu which allows you to set the time they remain on....have a look in the menu..its all there..

Yeah know about that one.

I just remember when I originally bought the car I thought it was stupid that it was the only car I have ever owned that you could not just turn the interior lights off if you didn't want them on.

Just put a bit of tape over the door switch to hold it in the closed position. :facejump:

I have to agree, I find it a bit annoying also. The timer for the lights only works if you take the keys out of the car, if you have the doors open and the keys in the ignition then the lights stay on ... for ever! you can't turn them off.

Got the same problem, I can switch them on and off manually but they don't activate when the doors are opened. I suspect its a fault, but probably not worth spending mony on.

The display screen only appears to have menus for the fade out time and turn off time after the key is removed from the igiation, which all means nothing in my situation.

I have checked the fuses and they are all good.
