Compare the two, Both 100cpi metal cats, one has 5 year warranty yet is cheaper and claims to be Euro III emission standard.. wtf is that meant to mean. Its a 100cpi cat converter how can they claim that sort of stuff???
The other only has 1 year warranty and is more expensive. Can anyone see any problems with either of these??
Anyone with experience in these brands i have never heard of?
The 'Bokka' one is 8" long which seems like alot? the Venom doesn't say length. Could the length mean there is more Cat converter material in it and therefore less emissions but more back pressure?

can these things cause loss of low down torque or should a ralliart already be hi-flowd enough to handle a little less back pressure??
I seriously don't think you should be concerned with "back pressure" - I think it's a misnomer and really what it means is that a restrictive or small exhaust will provide more power at low rpm (ie: torque) while a free flowing or larger exhaust may not have as much power at low rpm but more up high.
Since power is only Torque x RPM, it's all about where in the rev range the peak or usable torque is produced.
I did a search for Bokka and Venom cats. Looks like Venom has a small but good reputation and possibly Australian made. I couldn't find anything about Bokka, but 5 year warranty sounds sus to me :) Who supports this warranty?

Also, do you need to know about the legality of these cats for the street? I think it needs to be 200cpi to be legal, but I don't know of many ppl getting defected for emissions either.
Might as well de-cat if you are going 100cpi. The $10,000 fine remains the same.

Dean... I will not get a $10,000 fine for having a 100cpi cat converter. You think the bogan's who use a broomstick to clear out their stock cats to make it just a hole would get a $10,000 fine? No, it just doesn't happen and it completely unrealistic. You would get a defect, you also know that car's barely ever get tested for emissions right????
Yea oggy i might make a call about the 5 years warranty.... The prices are different by $15 so i'm not really fussed. Just thought there is no use in paying extra for the same thing.
Also anyone know the 'Euro III complicance' part of the 'Bokka' Cat???? I find that a bit strange.

Also, DEAN. I researched this then and the big fines are for people with NO CAT(S). Which means blatent disregard for the emissions law. A 100cpi cat is seen as a defect. With some research i just found that in many cars 200cpi is illegal and it is a defectable offence, not a $10k fine thanks DEAN.
Before LPG, you could ID Taxi's with failed cats simply by the noxious rotten egg gas smells when you were following them. I bet none of them ever got a $10k fine, yet alone a canary.
But a "hoon" that get's too much attention could potentially get the book thrown at them... calculate risk(s), take appropriate steps... each to their own as long as it's not dangerous to anyone else.
Another thing to note is you'll have a hard time finding somebody to install it as the workshop risks a $20,000 fine for installing a race cat, decat pipe, or gutting a cat on a street car.

I'm with dean on this. What's the point of doing it illegally and risking a huge fine for minimal gains.. Just buy a decent well known brand name cat that you know you won't need warranty on and will never have to replace...
