I was driving my car and found that there was a puncture in the pipe that connects to the radiator...
What should i do??? its sitting in my garage now?
Unsafe to drive it to mechanics?

ehow tells me to just wrap some tape over it and it should be fine.
no need for new radiator?
Go to bursons/repco/supercheap and buy a new pipe/bottle of coolant - DIY in 10 minutes, profit.

Common thing. Hose just got old. Probably worth doing the bottom hose at the same time. If your not confident with doing it best your mechanic to do it. If your willing to have a go I would suggest someone that knows how to do it help you out to help you learn. As life said easy job.
To give the system a good flush you will need to pull the thermostat out. Worth replacing that why you are there. Only tricky bit is filling it back up. You need to leave radiator cap off while you warm the car up until thermostat opens.
Goodluck, I'd suggest you have a go yourself as it good learning. By the time you get two hoses, thermostat and coolant it will cost you between $60-$100. Make sure you got someone helping you that know how do it so it goes well.:)

A combination of old age (I assume it is the original hose) and a lack of preventative maintenance, I would think. Worthwhile to do regular checks of all the hoses under the hood for softening, swelling and pinholes.

Thermostat alone is near $60 as the Magna uses a unique thermostat
So is the hole in the top radiator pipe that is part of the radiator or in the actual rubber hose
If you get stuck for parts, I am in and out today moving and have all new hoses here, have new and second hand radiators here and can do them cheaper than Burson will
