Probably been asked before but a quick search didn't show anything.
Is a XForce Varex muffler bolt on for the magna's ? in particular the 3rd gen/TL
I was looking at one of these LINK (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/XFORCE-VAREX-MUFFLER-REMOTE-SOUND-CONTROL-WRX-EVO-/140540985921?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20b8e54241)
Basically I wanted to know if I could fit it myself with no modifications needed.
Thanks.

you would probally need to go too a exhaust place and get it fitted (unless you like welding), then would probly just unbolt you stock rear muffler, chop the pipe off going into it and weld it onto the new Xforce, they did a similar thing when i had my lancer
it's not exactly a direct bolt on, you'll have to get a custom pipe made from the axle (coz the muffler is a lot shorter than the standard one) and they'll have to mount it differently than what the standard one is coz the muffler itself doesn't have mounts

Thanks for the quick replies guys. Also does anyone have one of these on their car? I wouldn't mind hearing a sound clip first as the only one I could find was just a drive by with really low revs

Hojo does but there'd be no point since the varex isn't the only thing he's changed.

just be careful mate, i remember hearing somewhere that in some states thats illegal unless its controlled by the ECU or something similar that opens it up according to RPM and throttle. I could be wrong but im sure they said that..

Yer it's illegal, everyone knows that but so many cars have these it's not funny. So don't let that put you off. If it's what you REALLY want go for it.

brand new, you'd expect to pay around $400.. just hit up eBay, they usually have it considerably cheaper. on eBay they'll have headings like "Holden/Nissan/Subaru XForce Varex muffler"- don't worry about the car brand, they're all the same muffler (... usually). just keep an eye on the inlet size, what you'd want is one that is 2.5"- if you want a dump tip (like i had) i'd also suggest searching for one that is a single outlet and doesn't have a tip on it yet

I went with a Lukey bolt on instead. Whilst it sounds better then the stock muffler; I am bored with it now :P
