The picture displays the cover of a 5 speed tippy up side down.
I want to separate the two strips that display the 'P R N D' and '+ -' from the cover.
Basically how do I remove those 2 x circular clips contained within the red outlines with out destroying the plastic nibs they are attached to? And not destroy those curcular clips, as well, in the process?
Like anything else, once you know how, it becomes easy.
Would appreciate any assistance.

Edit - For some reason the pic is not loading correctly, hopefully the above makes sense to some one out there.

Not having said assembly, I'm making a semi-educated guess; are these metal circular clips with 4 prongs that bite into the plastic nibs? If so, same as door trim bits, get a small screwdriver and carefully prise up each prong a bit at a time, work your way around all four so one doesn't get too far ahead of the others, should be able to gradually work it off without snapping the nib. If it gets bent just straighten afterwards. Easiest way to get it back on evenly is to use a suitable sized socket and tap it on.

TiMi - Pic now up. Thanks for the tip, works, Photobucket did not :-(

RoGuE_STreaK - Yes, that's what I thought. Just wondering if there was an easier way.
Got them off - bent them out of shape, scratched the nib to buggery.

Yep, looks like careful unbending and careful re-bending is the way to go.

1. Pry them off slowly with a small screw driver
When ready to replace...
2. Hammer them flat, the prongs will be bent from previously
3. insert them on with a 10mm socket or similar
4. lightly tapping with a mallet, so that the prongs bend and bite on to the upright, until they are seated firmly at the bottom.
