Done a bit of a search and the threads are a little outdated. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a place or site to get pacemakers for my 3.5 KF cheap. Was quoted $1000 installed which seems a TINY bit rich! They reckon its an all day job. .
Uh huh. .
Still shopping around but any help would be great!
Thanks guys!

Send this guy an email with the part number and he should be able to give you a decent price.

Ok, hmmmmm sound system for EXTREME LOUDNES, or exhaust for EXTREME LOUDNES and fuel economy and a little power?

After the deep note, fuel economy increase and change in power and torque curves. Pacemakers seem the go just need to find the best price i can
How about HM Headers. Can be a DIY as they are designed specifically for a factory finish. I did not have the required tools so took it to an exhaust place (parent's neighbour) and he did it in 30 minutes.

Just confirming a price you should be looking at. I was quotes $990 for pacies and hi-flow cat supplied and fitted. My exhaust guy isn't cheap either. I would go pacemakers, haven't had a bad review.

The Xforce headers are made of a really thin metal and have caused issues for another member on here.

Another thing about Xforce, is strangely short secondary on the rear bank (compared to the front bank secondary).... I guess that doesnt necessarily mean performance sacrifice. They do look good though.....

I pressume you fitted the pacies to your VR-X. Have you done a header swap to see any difference. That is, fit the HM from the Ralliart to the VR-X and the pacies to the Ralliart.
I can't comment on other extractor designs but the pacemakers that I have a pretty good. I got my first set for my TF for $350. But yeah, $450 is a good price if you can find them for that.
The design on the pacemakers is pretty good. They even have bell mouthing on the inlet holes that go to the heads. On a previous set of Lukey extractors I had didn't have this so the ports didn't match up 100%, so some exhaust air was finding a metal wall :P
If you buy the extractors separate, any old place like profix will fit them for pretty cheap. Each place like this normally has an exhaust guy on hand so it's not like it would be done by a normal engine mechanic.
Hope this helps.

Would you really expect to "feel" any difference? How much variation would you notice on the car between the two brands of headers?...I would have thought not much if at all. (at least on a standard FWD "stock" engine). But nevertheless probably a worthwhile exercise for someone who has the resources and time (if for anything just to prove a point).

Cheers for the advice guys. I think if i can get the pacemakers for $450 that is OK. But im not paying $500 to fit them which is what they wanted. Will keep shopping around i think
The model number i am looking at is the PH 1930
Sound right for an auto going to manual 1997 3.5 KF?
Cheers

Where abouts are you? If NE, could try Exhaust Plus at Stepney. They have changed owners (were my parents neighbour). Still, can't see them charging over $100 to fit.

+ 1 for exhaust plus at stepney. They did my brake pads on the 380 and they were more than willing to help adapt a set or Magna headers to fit to a 380.
Highly recommended.

Exhaust Plus centres mainly do exhaust jobs. I'm sure there are other Exhaust Plus centres closer to you.
