Putting this out there to see if anyone knows a workaround

'06 GT with the Eclipse AVN-6000 in-dash Sat Nav.

Our disc was scratched (read: stuffed) when we got the car so we never worried about the sat nav.

But I had to replace the battery in the car last night which caused the head unit to restart.
Major problem is the head unit requires a map disc to initialize. gar!
No radio, dvd, cd anything without the map disc first..

Has anyone come across this and know a work around? Or failing is there someone in the Sth Bris. area with a disc I can borrow to get this head unit up and working.

Heck even a copy of your disc just to get this working, I'd break it in half straight after.

Cheers.

Google and d/L from torrent perhaps???

The only person I know who had the eclipse was Blackstar and he was Perma-Banned

If you still have the disc, take it to Video Ezy or Blockbuster and get them to run it through there disc cleaning machines.
They do a cut and polish type clean, it's saved me on a few occasions with pc games.

So far no luck downloading - there is one copy floating around for Toyota/Lexus that does work.. however you need the Mitsubishi/Eclipse original software to activate the head unit (copies certain files from DVD to headunit apparently).. much frustration.
I spend 9 hours download the other program from Rapid Share (took ages as you have a half hour wait before starting a new download and the iso was broken into a 13 piece .rar file) and there was a data error in one of the files. Got frustrated and deleted them all.

If I (or someone one conversant with torrent sites) find a copy of the Eclipse Version software I will be very happy as if taking the disc to a video store doesn't work out I am up for a new disc for $295 from whereis.
