I dont think i have all the tools to file it out to make it fit the 90mm, ( got it in mail today ) and wanted to know where i can get the front bit of the box so I can just replace it? I tried the link the seller posted and the link where he bought the front end of the box is expired (page), also tried searching the part listed "MN180008 Air Cleaner Housing" on ebay/google, no where to be found. Anyone know?

I've read > http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56400&highlight=galant+intake&page=5 , apparently i need a iron solder/hotknife..

anyway to make it easier, i'd prefer to buy the box. please let me know :)

The places mentioned in post 43 might be of some help.

Cause I dont want to stuff it up haha, and then end up buying the box anyway, do i just cut it so it fits the 90mm? no measurements? just a rough cut so it fits? not quite sure

The profile you need to cut out is already there. Easy to follow. I used a stanley knife and finished off with a half round file. You really cant stuff it up

its not really a rough cut. if you pull out your airbox you can see the outline of were the 90mm will fit in (there are pictures in one of those threads). I gave up with the kitchen knife and ended up using a soldering iron I had lying around ($10 from dick smiths) to melt away all the extra bits. It looks and fits as though it came out of the factory that way.

If I can do it anyone can. The hardest part was actually getting the front half of the airbox out of the car.

edit: heh... I'm a bit late I guess.

Use a 3 mm drill bit to drill all around the bit that needs to come out, then use a solid bread knife to join the drilled holes, then a rough round or flat file to finish off. Took me about 15mins to do it this way.

I used the hotknife attachment on my small gas powered soldering iron

I scored it with a knife and then used a pair of multi grips and snapped the flange off. This would have to be the easiest way to do this.
