Hi guys,

I was wiring up an amp for the stereo in the back of the car when I accidentally got the polarity back to front. I changed it back and replaced the fuses in the amp and then I noticed the SRS light on the dash was on and the indicators didn't work.

I replaced the fuse about 3 or 4 times before it stopped blowing, but now the hazard lights don't work when I turn the switch on or when I lock the car with the remote. The indicators work normally but when I hit the hazard switch they stop, so at this point all I can do is try a new switch and maybe a new flasher relay. I have a feeling for whatever reason the fuse burned out 3 times I might have done some damage having the amp wired up back to front...

Anybody got any ideas? I'll try the switch and a flasher can but other than that I'm fresh out of ideas...

Cheers

the fact the indicators work is a good thing as the same flasher can is used for the hazards. when you press the hazard button a changeover switch internally powers the hazards separate to the indicators from another fuse.
i would look through both fuseboxes and see if you can find a blown one. sorry i dont have the fuse locations handy.

Ah OK, yeah it makes sense they would be on another fuse because I remember pressing the hazard switch and getting about half a flash from them.

I've got the manual and there's a diagram on the fusebox lid so I should be pretty right, will pull them all out and double check and report back here.

Cheers

Magwheels you were spot on - I found another fuse blown in the engine compartment fusebox. I replaced it and they work now.

Thanks mate.
