View Full Version : Supercharger for TS engine?

Gday

I was wondering if anyone makes a bolt on supercharger to suit a TS engine? If not I've heard that a MR2 supercharger will do the job. I dont want to run huge amounts of boost, 6-8 would be fine.

What kind of power figure could I expect to gain with this PSI (@ the fly)?

My car has a double weber carby, heavy duty rockers and clutch, 2.5" extractors and a basically straight exhaust.

Would I need to overhaul any internals to run at this boost level?

What work is actually involved in installing a supercharger?

It was turbocharged for a short time before I bought it (ran like poo, something to do with the injection system, cheaper to just put on a huge carby and lose the turbo than fix the injection). It has only done 60 000kms.

What would be a rough price range for the parts and labour required? (prob a BS question but I might as well ask it)

As you can tell Im not really up to speed on superchargers(no pun intended), just an idea that my dad gave me.

Thanx for any help!

yours is a 2.6 i guess? im fairly sure there is no bolt on SC's for any magnas, but with ur webber setup +cam and exhaust you would see some pretty cool power figures i imagine! look for a M45 SC or maybe the AE86 4gze SC.

...there is no bolt on SC's for any magnas,
Capa have one for Pajeros so there is, it's just not a bolt on just like Pajeros.

Sounds good...I havent found much on the capa. What would be better suited to a 2.6, the 4AGZE SC or the M45?

Also what parts will I need to add to get one installed (6-8PSI)?

interesting, i wonder if they arent adapting it to magnas because of bonnet clearance or because the trans cant take the torque. how long has the pajero kit been out?

A little while I think. I'm pretty sure it's the bonnet clearance. That's what they said to me when I asked if they had something available. They reckoned it probably could be adapted though.

What about bolt ons (superchargers) for the TS V6 3.0l ???

Does anyone know...
- if they are available,
- what the cost would be to buy & install,
- what other mods would be required (or other considerations) and
- what is the expected benefits (pros/cons) ?

As you can probably guess, like 'mazzazx51' I don't know alot about Superchargers. I'm not mechanically minded so I like to hear your thoughts - that way, when I go to the mechanics - I don't sound too stupid and naive.

Thanks guys (and gals).

No I dont have the turbo or piping sorry. All that was done before I bought the car, as far as I know the turbo was cooked and he got rid of it all, I'll ask him though.
