Will fit as long as offset is correct; should be around +40 or so. 235/40/R18 is the tyre you need.

They should fit but if your worried check with your insurance company, mine wouldn't let me go wider than 7".
the correct offset being 4 x 114.3?

that will be the PCD, and the correct one will be 5x114.3, not sure about the offset but generally FWD cars require 40 or so.
how can you tell the offset of a mag

(Am i correct?) on your new tyres, your vehicle will be showing 100km/h on the dash and will only be travelling 96km/h in fact. Which is sort of a good thing as it is a speed precaution. teK-- suggested 235/40 so that when you are travelling 100km/h your real speed would only be 99.6km/h which is more accurate. But it doesn't really matter that much.
Just in case you want to know, here's a site to determine how fast your vehicle is travelling:

No, the stock tyre profile on a 3rd Gen for 15" rims is 205/65/15. Close, but no cigar.

Yeh that was a typo, sorry. Though the figures I stated in my post were correct though because I used the Tyre Size 205/65/15 in the Tire Size Calculator.
