Sorry bout posting so much in here
This has been bugging me since I found out I took my car to the mechanic cause I heard this kind of like ticking and whirring noise that sounded like it was coming from the rear area or somewhere there. And the mechanic said it is the Fuel pump and the reason its making the noise is because it is a "third party" fuel pump and it has been attached to the body of the car near where the original was and is hitting on the body or something that makes the noise very loud and obnoxious I will try to get a sound file of the noise a little later but can some one tell me where the fuel pump would be located and if its easy enough to just replace the original with another original one? or can i just put some carpet between the pump and the car and see if it stops the noise?? Its how i bought the car and it drives me insane, If you put the car on the setting between Accessories and start you hear it VERY loud. Drives me Crazy!

someone got lazy

fit factory fuel pump has to be off a carby model / low pressure

its originally had an electric and in the tank itself

so the tank needs to be less than half full to remove /replace
sedan model
you get to the fuel pump from underneath the back of the car

might pay to try putting some sort off pad between pump and mount point. ie rubber , to stop sound traveling though the chassie .have seen garden hose o,rings to stop sound travel.
