Hey guys,
How do you tell a 3.5 manual intermediate shaft from a 4 speed auto one?
One I bought off a wrecker who he swore to me 5 times was the right one looks like the auto one we just pulled off.
My mech wants to make sure I've got the right one.

Its like 2mm longer in the auto ones. I learnt that the hard way :(

I know it sunds a little bit dodgy but you can actually cut the end off the auto one to make it fit into the manual box. I know because this is what we dd when converting my wifes car from manual to auto. I initially just used an angle grinder to get the length correct but the dust shield/seal that is attched to the shaft also needs to be moved back by the same amount. We ended up having the shoulder on the shaft machined to be able to put on the dust shield back on by a mate at an engineering shop.

Same thing we did with my manual magna lol Could only get a hold of auto shafts at the time so we hit them with an angle grinder, worked a treat lol
