Same as most Alpine equipment; build quality is superb but the sound reproduction only suits certain peoples tastes.

I would recommend something like Phoenix Gold, Hertz, Diamond, Focal, Boston etc over Alpine. Now that is just my opinion but I tell ya, it's an opinion shared with quite a few people hey. ;)

Moral of the story - audition them first. :)

Dude, we mail order equipment around the country every day and have also support the Manga forums, offering them greatly discounted prices on gear. I can mail you any of the Hertz range if you want.

Feel free to check out our website or simply email me.

Every few weeks someone posts this question. A little searching should give you a bit more info. :)

you can get the mb-quart refrence series for a little bit more i guess, and you will have a nice and clean vocal, but if you want just "loud" speakers, type-r will do the job nicely :D depends on the type of music you listen to really.

Alpine speakers lack mid-bass, and this is true even of their DDLinear range imo ...

mb-quart premium series are good as are the eclipse point source range.

Ive got a pair of 6+3/4 inch MB Quart Discus range splits in the front of my TS and they r running off an Alpine MP3 unit (60x4) through a clarion amp and they pump, never heard them distort once, even when my head starts hurting from excessive volume!! I rate them for sure
