I have just had the timing belt and water pump replaced in my KH Verada and the mechanic said that the engine mount had a slight crack, I guess its the drivers side engine mount as it has to be removed to replace the tiing belt, I had a look myself but I can't see any crack, maybe I will have to remove to see the crack, anyone had this problem? cheers

My thought is that it would be more visible once weight has been removed from it, uncompressing it if you will. Or it might be in an inconspicuous spot that you cannot see.

The drivers mount cracks very easily. How many K's has the car done? If its more than 200,000 it could be cracked and needs to be replaced.

I used a 2nd hand engine mount from the wreckers for $45 and it works good since i got it out of a car with low KM's.

If the splitnhas onlt started there should be no real rush just keep an eye on it

New are 135 pp for aust made mackay and second hand 65 pp if in stock

I took the engine mount out today and was looking for a crack in the actual metal, no crack there, but the rubber bush in the middle is cracked along the top on both sides, I could put a screw driver in the hole where the bolt goes and move it around a lot, is this what is ment by a crack in these engine mounts? I have never had this trouble with the second generations I've had, hope this makes sense, I have a pic but couldn't upload it.
