Are the front rotors and calipers on the US Galant the same as the 380's?

IIRC I read a article that said "while the diameter of the 380's ...front discs are similar to the Galant's, the Australian-made car features twin piston aluminum calipers instead of single piston cast iron calipers"
edit: that article was written waay back so maybe the newer galants have the same brakes as us now.

I believe they are different. When I got my Hawk ceramic pads I mentioned the Galant & they looked at the specs for it & compared to the 380 & they don't match up. I had to get front & rears custom cut coz the Galant fitment wouldn't work.

I can't remember now but think the rears are quite different. You can get tech drawings for the 380 from the DBA site & I have seen similar in the US somewhere for the Galant to compare.
I was looking at this originally defore anything was available here but now that you can get DBA etc it wouldn't be worth trying to buy from the US due to the weight of the rotors. Just get some BIG K-Sports :)

Did you read the other thread also?
www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83327
ie "Mitsubushi 380 DB brake rotor replacement, which rotors, and which pads??"
I changed mine to RDA slotted and Bendix HD pads couple of weeks ago - feel great around town, but have yet to do any heavy braking, let alone trailer towing
Can't remember now which forum or thread I got that recommendation form but am happy with outcome so far

sorry I missed that but will give it a read. It is just that I am looking at buying some tyres from tirerack in the USA and was considering including the rotors in the package

You may find some more useful info at
http://www.bendix.com.au/catalogue?manufacturer=Mitsubishi
and
http://www.rdabrakes.com.au/
I found "Auto One" had best prices when I chose the Bendix HD pads and RDA slotted rotors
