I don't think the electrics for the drivers door have ever worked since i got the car in Nov 08. By this i mean the courtesy light, interior light, and door ajar light, the window works fine. These all work when the other doors are open but never the drivers door. Then about a week ago I noticed the courtesy light came on, followed by the door ajar light and interior light, there's a delay. I thought it must've been a dodgey connection and that it's come good. It was good for a couple days then it was just the courtesy light coming on, the others would come on when the door got to 50% open. I could move the door back and fourth around the 50% mark and the lights would go on/off. Now for the last couple days it's just the courtesy light coming on, and only sometimes. I opened the door and press the button in a couple of times and the door ajar light flickered. Any ideas? why would the door ajar light and interior light only come on when I opened the door halfway?

The courtesy light switch must be corroded and sticking causing to a bit reluctant to operate. Cure is simple: either remove the unit and buy a new one, or swap with the one from the back door. When this happened to me, I simply removed and saturated the switch in WD40 and then cleaned the contacts. One screw removes it.

This is the most used switch on the car.
Try swapping with the RH rear door switch.
Most likely to problem will now be on the door that is used the least.
