Hi all,
I have searched high and low and found lots of info on this but not what I,m looking for.
I have a 1991 TR SE.
I have pulled out the headset/stereo. It has TWO plugs at the back of it.
I have seen the diagram that says up to 1998 But that is not the same wiring as mine.
The first plug has thick wires and goes a bit like this.

1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8

1 GREY
2 BLACK
3 RED
4 RED/GREEN STRIP
5 GREY/BLACK STRIP
6 BLACK/WHITE STRIP
7 RED/WHITE STRIP
8 RED

The second plug has only Three thin wires and goes a bit like this

1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8

1 RED/THIN GREEN STRIP
2 NOTHING
3 NOTHING
4 NOTHING
5 NOTHING
6 GREEN/THIN WHITE STRIP
7 BLUE/THIN RED STRIP
8 NOTHING

Can some one please help me with what wire does what???????
Other wise I will have to manually do it:pleasesign::pleasesign:

Thanks to all

Hi,
Thanks for the reply,,,,but I have allready looked at this and it doesn't have the same set up. It only has one plug pictured,, that has pink and all sorts of colours in it.
The other piece is different as well.

I have now done some manual testing and the plug that has only three wires coming from it is all to do with power Number 1=consistant power*** 6=Park/head lights for illumination at night and 7=Acc power

So the other plug that has 8 wires coming from it must be all speaker wires. I can also manually check these but it is a bit of pissing about. Back speakers are easy to access. Front are a bit harder and I have just finished replacing the front speakers,,I don't want to pull them out again.

Front speakers in the door sound much better than the tiny little ones in the dash. I had mine just in holes in the trim, but I think KS's had door trims with speaker pods, maybe some TS's or KR's as well? Have a look at u-pull-it, not sure how much they would want.

I had to get my pencil grinder to cut out some extra room under the new speakers I put in the dash.
This is the daughters car I mentioned about putting them in the door,,but she brought some pioneer speakers for the front dash which were higher buy about 20-30mm. BUT I got them to fit and they sound good. They cost her about 70 bucks.
She has brought a new stereo as well. Rear speakers are ok.
