Last night I installed a blackout cluster, swapped the whole harness over and it seems to be working fine apart from the centre clock / trip meter.
Question is do I need to get the cluster surround from a KJ in order to use the trip computer and clock?
My surround has the brightness dial on the right which works and a mode button and up and down buttons on the left which do not seeing I can't plug them in. The new harness won't reach over to the left. What have I done wrong?
Cheers
Ben

oh i'm retarded yep it was there, all working now. sort of.
does the centre trip comp show the time at all? as in time of the day not time travelling. also mine doesn't do the startup show with the needle sweep and what not.
pretty happy with it though

What was the cluster out of? Only certain models show the time AND trip computer. Weird about the needle sweep though. .

Cheers, mine's a series one then.
Anyone had issues with the fuel needle? mine seems to drop really quickly, as in it drop to half after using 10 or so litres. weird.
series one cluster shouldn't work with the RA's.. from memory (so don't quote me on this..)
talk to hulkstar since he's done the swap (from regular RA cluster to KJ2 blackout cluster)

Only KJ2 and KL will straight swap into a Ralliart.
I refused to do a whole loom change etc so went for the straight swap option.
Problem is finding a Blackout cluster from a KJ2 or KL is near on impossible so i can understand why you went for the older one and did the loom change.

Can anyone tell me how hard it is to pull the loom out for the blackout cluster?

Ask MR SPL. he did one on his KF and also on pwnd_69er's TH wagon. Think hes done a few more, but from what i can remember its dash out.

Depends on the car. You can do it with dash in but its FIDDLY. Much easier taking dash out

Pulling it out of a kj 01 model I think.
Not sure what the cluster is going into. Think its a tj, not my car, another members.

If I have to pull dash out. Any tips lol. Both air bags have been opened, cluster and all centre console pieces have been taken out already.

Still hurts tho hahaha.... It goes from one side to the other. Ecu > cluster > cosole > behind passenger airbag.
