Hi all.
I am about to do an oil change to the Verada I bought a couple of weeks ago but I am thoroughly confused as to the whereabouts of the oil filter. There is a filter marked Z456 on top of the left side of the engine under the air intake snorkel BUT there is also a filter under the left bottom of the engine.
Can you guys tell me which is the OIL filter?
I bought an oil filter Z456 and oil from MALZ and was told the the Z456 is the oil filter. If that is the case then the filter sitting on top of the engine marked Z456 must be the oil filter. If this is not the oil filter, is it possible that someone has replaced the transmission filter with an oil filter? Or is this impossible?
I was all for changing the top filter as the oil filter but was confused when a member's thread advised that the transmission oil filter is the top one under the air intake snorkel.
Can you guys help? I need to do the oil change this weekend. Thanks.

Engine oil filter is located on the lower part of th engine and is accessible from underneath the car.

As said above, the oil filter is situated under the car
You will see it once you jack up the front on the car to access the sump bolt
It sits just behind the drivers side tyre behind the slash guard, you may find it easier to remove the splash guard for easier access to the filtre if you have a normal removeal tool
The one you see just under the air snorkel if the oil filter for the gearbox, dont not remove and refill with engine oil!

If your car isn't lowered and you don't weigh as much as I do, you can change the oil by turning the wheels to the right and going under in front of the drivers wheel.

Download the manual and double check if you want, but I'm pretty sure the one on the drivers side that screws up on to the engine is the engine oil filter, and the one under the air intake on the passenger side that screws down onto the transmission is the transmission oil filter, which was only on earlier 3rd gens, later models they plugged that hole and used an internal transmission filter.

One behind the aircon compressor on the right hand side (drivers side) is the oil filter

One on top under the air intake is the trns filter and has had an enigne oil filter put on there by some idiot

Remember that when talking cars, the RHS is on the drivers side or determined by standing at the back of the car looking forward

Thanks Madmagna.
I will ask a silly question if I may. If, as you say,"some idiot replaced the transmission filter with an oil filter" would he also have filled the transmission with engine oil? The transmission is ok and has no problems. Will it cause any harm if I leave the oil filter as fitted to the tansmission or should I change it with the correct filter? Is the transmission filter similar to the oil filter?
Thanks for any additional help.
Today the top radiator hose blew up and I just managed to get the car home. The temperature gauge did not move above half There was a lot of steam and the radiatior was empty.
I was not aware that it had happened until I stoped and noticed steam coming from under the bonnet. I am wondering if I have caused any damage to the engine. I suppose I will find out once I get it going again. I will also replace the bottom hose just to be on the safe side.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it is quite possible that you have boiled your engine as the temp sender cannot read the temperature of steam! If this has happened, due to the alloy head/steel block combo the heads may have warped leading to head gaskit issues. There is light at the end of the tunnel however, replace the hoses, top up the coolant, drive it gently and sell it ASAP. Ok that's not exactly ethical, but if you trade it in you wont have to feel as bad!

Start with a pressure test of the cooling system and go from there.

Best of luck!
