Hi guys came home today and notice that the car had lost a bit off coolant coming out from the reserve tank on the passanger side small hose that runs down , car does not overheat, temperature stays around half way. Just wondering if this is normal. Cheers

If it has too much coolant in the system it will dump what it doesnt need, keep an eye on the levels and if it is in the normal range I wouldn't worry too much.

If it keeps dumping and getting low, check your thermostat.

Ok thanks mate, i bought a new radiator cap and it has not done it, it only did it once thats why i was a bit suprise thanks for your advice.

is this a 4cyl or v6?

same thing happened with my TR 4cyl, a few months after replacing the cap the head gasket went.

that is worse case though, hopefully yours was just a bit over full.

is a 4 cyl it has only done 112000 km

i've just replied to your PM mate. As I said in my PM mine was coming out of the reserve tank hose regularly, so if yours only done it the one time it may have just been overfull.

was the radiator full and the level in the reserve tank ok when you changed the radiator cap?

Yeah radiator was full and reservoir was at Norma level I think when I took he car to get service y mechanic top it up to much cheers

no worries, sounds like they just topped it up a bit too much during the service. I didn't mean to alarm you, just wanted to let you know what happened in my similar situation.
