hey guys

just wondering where the needle on your temp gauge sits most of the time,
my TJ Vrx always sits just below half or even slighly above in heavy traffic, is this normal ?

just wondering as my old TS never went above a quater.

thanks :)

Just below half is normal. Over half and you have problems lol

Just below half way is normal in the 3rd gens
If your sitting in traffic for alittle it would creep up a tiny amount as there's no air passing through the radiator, but when the fans kick in it should be back to normal
So yea very normal and nothing to worry about
It's when it keeps creeping towards the H you should be worried lol

Or when you look down after driving for 20 minutes and it's on 'C', you might also have a problem then.

My black vrx was always like 1% over half and my ralliart always sits about 1% under half.

Even when i got home the other night and the RA engine was making that ticking noise i got a bit worried but the temp guage was looking fine.

ok then guys, please help tell me what problem i have got. My temperature needle will not creep up in traffic nor will it when i drive it through the gears [tiptronic] however sometimes under load or labouring on inclines , [in normal auto mode under 80 klm/h] it tends to creep up and then back down. at times it will go almost to 70% mark
is this the norm ??

well in my 2001 executive it goes all the way up close to red then fan cut in had this check out and they told me the engine is not actually over heating.then brought it to auto electric place and
they said the temp gage is not working properly, but has for the engine its running normal even though the gage thinks differently.

oh and before all this i change thermostat and fan sensors.

yeh, suspect fan or sensor / thermostat but strange its only happening whilst actually driving only..weird
