Been looking round for some suspension for my ralliart, wanna drop it just that tiny bit more, just sits a bit too high, problem is i have been warned by a few places that once you start lowering or messing with the stock suspension everything goes wrong, eg eats away the bushes and otha things. wats everyone elses experience? reccomend a brand or anything i can use that wont give me constant problems?

And where can you get rear tail lights and side indicators darkened? do you have to buy them new or do places do it? (i live round newcastle)

thanks fox

If you only drop 10-15mm, you won't hurt much.

The main worry i would have with doing that is the flares, though. Chances are good it will scrub over bumps, and unlike our VRX bros we can't remove them because the bodykit would look dodgy as hell with them gone.
You would have to be very careful with dropping it if you have any decent offset.

My Magna's lowered, and I need a couple of bushes replaced (see this thread (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88394)). Given my car's got 150,000km on the clock (been lowered for 50,000km of that) I was expecting it anyway. Mind you, my bump stops are completely obliterated lol I reckon it'd be worth replacing the bump stops if you decide to lower it a bit - they're only about $60, but labour's a killer.

A set of King Low SPs would lower a Ralliart about 15-20mm, which keeps it at a sensible height. Will handle quite nicely with the stiffer springs too. Depending on the age of you car, I'd consider getting your Konis rebuilt at the same time too - I know I would get it done.

yeh would def get my konis rebuilt. 15mm would be sweet, hows the ride quality like? i remeber my old magna it was like a bomb hit you every time you hit a tiny bump....

My RA is on King Lows with the stock shocks, have a look at my ride page. It's really easy to drive without the front splitter on and i don't have any issue's with the comfort.

For the record, I have King Lows, which are 15mm lower than the Low SPs. Similar stiffness, but obviously much less travel.

Before I wore away my bump stops, it rode pretty nicely. With new shocks, I actually preferred how my car rode post-lowering. You feel more of the imperfections in the road with the stiffer springs, but the good shocks means it's still pretty tolerable, even when you hit a bigger bump. It's definitely firm, but far from uncomfortable.

Yeah Mitsfix will sell you a set of four King Springs for $240 plus postage, if I recall correctly.

I've never looked into it but I have the feeling it'd be around $100-$150 per shock to get them rebuilt.

How many kms old? I wouldn't bother getting them rebuilt unless they are high kms, or unless you feel they are getting weak. Hulkstar had Boge shocks with his new springs and the mechanic took them off and used his Koni Reds despite being 9 years old as he said they were still working great.

I doo the the irony that if they go bad after a short time you will have to replace them anyway and that costs even more, not sure.
