Hi guys,

Just a quick one. Will rims with specs PCD: 5/114.3, OFFSET: +55, and CENTREBORE: 56.0mm fit on Magna 98' TF? I know 5x114.3 is the go, but ain't sure what offset +55 affects, compare to say offset +45mm etc. Reason for asking is because one of my ROH Strike rims has a crack, which can't be welded, so i gotta replace the whole set! BTW ROH Strike model has been discontinued.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I would have thought that +55 would be too close to the inner guard/suspension.

how wide are the rims , offsets dont mean much if i dont know the how wide

Sorry for the lack of info. The rims are 18" x 8". PCD: 5/114.3, OFFSET: +55, and CENTREBORE: 56.0mm . Cheers!

I believe the centre bore on 3rd gen rims is 67.1mm so these would be unlikely to fit regardless of offset. Rims with larger centre bore than original (eg 73mm) can be used but there are different schools of thought as to the value of hub centering rings.

and there is a very good chance with that offset they will hit the inner gaurds and maybe the strut.

*Headache* I've already bought 4 new 18" tyres from Bob Jane before they told me one of the rims is cracked. Cruising on a spare wheel now. The last thing i want now is having to buy 4 new 18" rims to fit on my old Magna. Searching ebay to find a set of suitable, cheap 18", but found nothing so far.

for a magna my presonal preference on an 8 inch rim is +40 to +35 offset

No go on 8" with such little offset. You need at least +45 to not scrub too badly.

Centrebore is fine as long as the wheels bore is bigger than the hub - just used locator rings.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I just found this on Ebay. I suppose they'll fit. 18"7.5", 5x114.3, et45p, which i assume means +45 offset.

I dummy fitted these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....=STRK:MEWAX:IT today to my KF , and with some spacers they would be sweet

Im even tempted to trim the rear arms to make them fit

here is the only other set for sale also but 21inch $5500k

Hey guys.

How do 8" wide rims with a +38 offset fit on the magna? Okay? What about on a VR-X? Will I need to modify the flares?

Currently stock VR-X suspension.

My rims are 8" wide and +38. 235 tyre. I'm lowered and had to modify the flares (actually, I chose to remove them, but they scrubbed pretty bad regardless). If you're at stock height, I'd be tempted to give them a bit of a trim - I doubt they'd scrape often, but the potential would be there.

Thanks for that mate. I'll give em a trim.

If I ever wanted to lower, it would only be 10mm lower then standard VRX hight if that's at all possible..

I might invest in some camber bolts to try and get a bit of camber so they clear..

Are Ralliarts or VRX lower?

Because i'm running 18x8 with +38 offset and 245 on stock suspension and everything's perfect here. Could likely get King Spring SP with no dramas.

They're about the same height.

I'm on Lows, and I couldn't even drive on a mildly bumpy country road without the wheels continually scraping on the flares lol Obvious you wouldn't have this problem at stock height, but if you hit a big enough bump (ie approaching bottoming out) the potential to scrape would definitely be there.

Hmmm, thanks for that. Are you running much camber? I might see If I can dial in -1.2 to -1.5 for the front and -0.6 to -0.75 for the rear. Maybe that, with the flair trimming will help with scrape.

If I wanted to drop the car slightly with this offset, what spring is reccomended for say.. a 10mm drop over stock VR-X hight?

I was running about -1° on the front. 8"/+38 rims basically sit flush with the guard when the flares are off, so altering the camber may not do a whole lot. I guess there's only one way to find out...

I never got a chance to see how the rear flares went - the tyre shop took them off as I got them to roll my guards too as a precaution.

King Low SPs (30mm drop from an Exec) is the least lowered spring that Kings offers. I believe Lovell Lows are around the same height too.

^ The VR-X is 10mm lower then exec? Or More?
