Hey guys just after some info.

My TE V6 is starting to give me a headache, everything with it was all fine and dandy until the other day i tried to crank it over and no go. The engine light came on, so i shut the car off a tried again and it fired up, ever since then though, if my car has been sitting for a while it will be hard to start. It will crank and keep cranking (engine light also comes on), then nothing, so i try again and still nothing, but then on the 3rd time it will fire and away i go.

Now i need to have a good look into my manual to see what symptoms would prompt the engine light, but i am wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and what likes to break on 3rd gens to cause this issue?

Possibally a dead battery? I had a crap battery when I got my car, started then died at the end of my driveway, got a new one and hey presto:) it stays alive

Swap it with yours and soon find out:)

Doesn't make any other noises when cranking?

Do you mean it will crank over at full speed, but it won't acctually fire up? If so, it could possibly be the immobiliser? Mine does the same trick on occasions. Seems to be when the interior heater has been working overtime.

Mine did that the other day, Dirty terminals on the crank sensor, showed up crank sensor and cam sensor by the codes but the terminals were dirty. works as per normal now.
