Hi guys my magna tr 2.6l has a jolt if i suddenly stop at the lights with the o/d active but if i stop slowy it does not do it, oil is good ans so is the level any ideas. Also some times when im driving at 60kmh the car jerks a bit but if a activate the o/d it does not do it. All the gears shifts nice and smooth. Hope you can help. Cheers

the auto should give a little lurch when it stops at lights
it kicks down to first gear ready to take off

the o/d button is supposed to be off below 70 km/hr

you will wear out the end clutch if you keep the o/d on all the time

Thanks for your info. Now do you know what can be causing little jerk when going around 60 kmh with o/d off it does it sometimes not all the time it feels like it wants to go into fourth gear but when I release the accelerate pedal it dies
Not do it but them it does it againg any ideas the car has only done 112000 km cheers

there is a switch on the accelerator pedal
that is a kick down switch that is adjustable

you really have a three speed box the od makes it a 4 speed

another fault could be the kickdown band solenoid
thats on the front of the box held in by a circlip

the next thing to do is have the box serviced
should be serviced once a year

you may have a blocked filter

next check all the wiring plugs of the box for corrosion
and clean all the contacts
