Hey guys

I own a 02 tj exec s2 4sp auto wanna do some mods redback exhaust pacemaker headers and lowered suspension.

Theres a ralliart magna supercharged for sale on carsales.com.au for 12 grand would love it.

Should I stick with mine or buy this one?

Any thoughts appreciated

If you have the cash, get the RA. Spending money on power for a 4sp auto magna is a big waste of time as it will just not compare and you'll end up spending a lot of money converting to manual anyway.

Says the guy who started with a 4sp 3litre hehe.

The RA is very high kms so make sure you bump him down in price and get a mechanic to look over it!

Speaking from experience Hayden. May be 3.5 manual now, but it cost alot to get it there...

Honestly, the Ralliart.

Providing it's been looked after and you can get it cheap enough, it will be a much better deal than trying to upgrade a standard magna to equal it.

LSD, Koni, the interior, the brakes, the engine, the fuel tank, the kit, etc. All of it makes it combined makes it very worth it.

I know i mean, its far more practical to buy an already 'sporty' car but in 'life's' case he obviously liked his car to much to let it go. He now has one of the largest modification lists on these forums whether other's think it was worth it or not it's his car and he's gotta be proud of that.

Buy the Ralliart, its been on carsales for approx 4-5 months. Make the guy an offer. If he knocks you back then work out a suitable price.

Op be wary as has been on there for a while and we all know how many melted magna engines have been out there as well as dead chargers. A charger alone will cost far more than a manual conversion and if this ralliart is in wa leave it as the engine is rs anyway

Forget pacemaker get hm headers and a sports or vrx rear can as the rest of the system is good. Add a skr tune and you are off to a good start

Now I have looked at the car, has had the charger fitted since new, must be the first sprintex in history to go past 60k without seizing a bearing or mashing itself and the engine it is attached to lol

Again, be wary, a new charger will set you back around 3.5k if it lets go and does not damage the motor. There are 2 other Manual Ralliarts avail if that is what you are really after

It all looks too good to be true. Pitty about the problems with the Sprintex S/C's... best to have it looked over before making a decision but on the outside it looks in good nic. I was contemplating going that S/C Ralliart last year when it was going for 15k. After much pondering, I decided to go the XRT as I knew the car well and was confident there wld be no problems with it over the high K's S/C Ralliart in question.

If you know anyone in NSW (someone mechanically minded), ask them to check it out for you. You never know but for someone to let it go at that price even with high k's cld mean the S/C is basically just sitting on top without even being installed. lol, it is a possibility. Give the guy a ring, ask the questions. The Ralliarts will always be your best basis for mods magna wise. There pretty cheap now too so an easy pickup.

This is a good idea, too.

Get one of us or anyone else you know to go check over it for you before you spend money on an airfare, and we can get back to you and tell you if it's worth checking out in person.

If none of the Syd guys want to go check it out, i'll go once my box is back in.

There is this one (http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=10637678&__Qpb=1&Cr=3&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal |1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&keywords=&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294964597% 204294961424%201622&SearchAction=N&silo=1011&seot=1&tsrc=allcarhome&__Nne=15&trecs=4&__sid=12FC13349EBB) as well in NSW for an extra grand (13k) and half the km's (100,000km)...would be worth considering i think...
