View Full Version : ETACS help and wiring diagram please!

as some of you may know i took the complete loom out of an elite and put it in my se. only problem has been the door locks and security system.

when i first connected the bat the hazards started flashing (horn prob would have to if it were connected) so i pulled the plug on the etacs box first, didnt stop, then a small black box under the dash and that stopped it. so haven't had a problem apart from door locks stuffing up (mentioned in last thread).

but tonight my sister saw flashing out the window but it stopped before she saw what it was. then when i was stuffing around with the car it started again so i pulled the etacs connectors off and that stopped it. the car still runs without it but the tippy dimming dome light ect doesn't work anymore. i would like to try and bypass the alarm and keep the box connected as it manages other interior stuff, mainly the lights and i would think central locking.

so anyway if anyone has a wiring diagram it would be much appreciated. i think it was only an option in the tp so i will need to be out of one.

maybe you need that last bit off the key barral. can send it and the sunny i found afteer you left lol

haha yeh jerry realized he didnt have his sunnies half way home and i wasnt turning back lol! you mean the ignition barrel that we couldn't get off?

for now i cut the wire that goes to the hazard lights (from memory was a red and green wire on the middle end of the small connectors top row. stopped hazards and seeing as i didnt attach the etacs siren up that cant activate anyway. only other thing is that its meant to disable the starting circuit of the car too which for some reason it does not. so this means that it could be going into alarm every time i unlock the doors but no one will ever know. hopefully the immobilizer isn't kicking in because i have a manual engine loom connected to it and not because of a stuck relay or something.

if anyone can set me up with a wiring diagram ill be able to work out what the hell is going on. i know its a big ask but if someone can photocopy the full car loom out of a tp manual and auto i will appreciate it more than air at the moment.

ok so ive worked out how to toally disable the immobiliser and alarm while leaving the door locks, power window timer and courtsy lights connected.

first you do is disconect the horns for the alarm. then on the etacs module you will find a feed wire to the hazard lights. you need a multi meter and have the alarm going off to find it. but im pritty sure its black with a red stripe and thicker than all the others. its on the end of the small pluge. towards the middle. so i cut that.

then to disconnect immobiliser you will find a relay under the air intake box next to the bat box. it has a thick black and yellow and a slightly thinner black and yellow wire. cut these and solder them together as this is the relay that cuts power to the starter motor. you can check its the right relay by disconnecting it and trying to crank the engine. if no crank you got it. but it only has 4 wires leading to it.

so anyway pretty vague instructions but they will help point anyone in the right direction if need be.
