View Full Version : Power issues
Hay all
Ive got an TL engine in my 2000 model sports magna. There could be something wrong with my engine fuel or watever that could be restricting the car from its full potiental of power. Wat are your thoughts people of wat it could be thats doing this.?

First thing is what parts from the TL motor did you use in your car, when I ask what parts, things like dist, leads, injectors etc etc
Further from this, your exhaust could have a blockage, your MAF sensor, was this from your old car or is it from the TL, you will need to update this if you are running a TF engine harness as well as the engine harness as well
From memory you have a TF, if this is correct (I may be totally off base here) you may be getting an issue with the bara sensor not being present in the MAF and also in the harness and this may be causing the ecu to pull back timing etc.
have you spoken to Steve Knight as he may have some ideas as well

Mines the TH 3.5l. If i used the maf out of my origional TH or used the TL maf would this matter? Looks like hes used the TL distributor and injectors , leads. Is there anything else u could think of with fuel supply or anything with fuel mabey.? One thing my mechanic told me and showed me under the rocket cover there was lpg or something written on the heads in black pen i think it could of ran on lpg for awhile.

Nah, same MAF, thought you had a TF for some reason, my bad
LPG is no issue, they often had the LPG engines in the Advacne models or LS in the case of a TL.
I would start with fuel flow etc etc. Have you done dyno with both the old and new ecu back to back?
