eveytime its near empty i fill up, i don't know how much km i can get out of car when gets down the buttom, i know reserve is at least 30km,

Ok.. Well, I've driven 30-40km with the empty light on. I would say you have about 100km left while the gauge is at where it is now.

Why don't you just fill up? Or at least put a few $$ in if you're strapped for cash?

Ok i just did this, this week 643klm and it said range to empty was 70 klm. and it was lower on the gauge than yours but i was not tempting fate and put $30 and range to empty is now 390klm.

Its about 90km reserve once the light comes on (granny mode driving of course :P)

Yeah I'd say you have around the 100-150kms left, if driven gently.

My TJ series 2 still has about 15L left when the light first comes on

The risk you are running by driving on empty or near empty is simply not worth it mate, if your pump runs dry and it gets damaged, it can explode, the fuel pump is kept cool and lubricated by the fuel.

If you cannot afford to refuel, take a bus for the sake of both your car and long term of your back pocket and poss your safety

I would say you have about 80'ks from that point. Unfortunately back when I had my old 3.0lt Magna TF Advanced I had no other choice one time to drive it on low fuel. I used the trip comp from that point on to the nearest fuel station... I got 80 k's outa her from the point the light went on. This was on a trip from VIC to W.A back in the 90's with mates... everyone wanted a magna after we made it to the station on fumes... I wasn't going to do it to the old girl again though. (If your wondering how we were 80 k's away from the nearest station... we got lost alright.):iough:

I drive once 40km with the red light on and when i fill up i still got 10L of petrol in my tank (magna series 2, 72L tank)

My reserve light turns on when i have 20L left in the tank... I have done 100kms on reserve and still had 5L left when i refuelled.. Not that i wanted to almost wanted to run the tank dry, but the light just came on when i was little out of ballarat on the way to Geelong... but Phew!! I made it...

I would say you safely have 50kms of driving mostly on flat roads and not inclines/ declines.
