Hey I aquired a towbar for my 99 TH wagon. Didn't get any bolts with it so just wondering where i could get them from.

Wreckers or Mitsubishi? Mal could have some (mitsfix) ;)

Generally you'd use mild steel bolts. Basically the higher the tensile strength the lower it's shear strength, and the bolts on a towbar are subjected to shear stresses not tension.

I called a couple of places including Bursons and ARB and they said High Tensile. But I looked up the definitions of but and I agree with Caz, I should be looking at High Shear Stress Bolts.

FWIW, my TL Hayman Reese towbar is fastened with bolts stamped MF 88 or M E 88 ....and the tongue bolt also has 8.8 stamped on it - they are genuine stamped Hayman Reese bolts and the "88" on each bolt head indicates the type of bolt. Wiki says:
"Mild steel bolts have property class 4.6. High-strength steel bolts have property class 8.8 or above."
