The new range of Pioneer double dins are good value for money and have one of the better sound quality filters IMO. I have the single din version and the sound quality is amazing. The double din deck was around the 8-900 mark in autobarn, 3 x pairs preouts @ 4v, has many options for sub control and pretty much any other control.
Has complete control over ipod and even iphone.

Go look at this new Orion AVR6.1, i promise it is entirely porn, its a smidge expensive at roughly $1750 (1999 rrp) but i promise its the best around

second only to the Eclipse AVN726E but last check its still the same price.

It features DAB+ (presuming you have digital radio over there?) - very good integration, latest version of iGo which is the best nav around.. really good stuff. Has iPod integration, Reverse Camera, lots of sound controls etc.

Does not have TV but from what I have see all the TV tuners are are both analogue and on cheap shitty chinese units, the Orion has (3!) video inputs so you could make one a tv tuner probably from an external box with DVB-T support but haven't seen stuff for doing that.

Nah. I've got a Tom Tom and Bluetooth car kit so don't need those two features.

The Orion looks a tad too busy on the front but I do like the features. The Eclipse is a better looking unit. I would get the Clarion VX709A but it looks like it doesn't have a tv tuner.

I'll go look at pioneer stuff now.

I like the Pioneer but again no TV.

DTV tuners are available in 12v..

I'll see if I can find out the models and post em up for you..

Eclipse AVN726.. Great unit - Sound Quality is amazing! Mid range like that from a just a HU.. Vocals are beautiful!

I'm actually looking at the Pioneer units at the moment.. Been quite impressed with them..

They do but unless you go a second hand unit you will be paying top dollar for little features but exceptional sound quality. To add to it the double dins have the option of an aftermarket ptocessor or imprint later if you want. Like most companies they expect you to expand and pay for the features added on that you actually need. There are some exceptions though

Well i brought one. I was waiting for Tax but came across a 2yo Clarion Model brand new for a price that i couldnt refuse. I didnt like the new Clarion model so this was spot on. The bluetooth is something i didnt want but for the iphone its great as dont need cord to play music.:) I have a full carkit for the phone and i still think it works better than the Clarion hands free but its only early days for now. Ive fitted it and very happy so far. All i go to do now is get a TV Tuner and reverse camera for it.

Yeah im not sure about a digital tuner.. I was told they arent worth spending the money on. Analoge is still better value for money. If someone can point me in a better direction i will be open to hear it.

DTV is great if you get the right antenna and position it correctly on the vehicle, as well as, the fact that you wont get DTV reception outside Metro areas.

Analogue tuners work anywhere, picture/audio quality isn't the greatest, but if you're only ever gonna use it once in a blue moon, a cheaper alternative and definitely will give you some sort of picture.

Try a cheaper DVB tuner from eBay and see how that goes for ya.. Analogue tuners are a little harder to come buy in a branded unit.

I have an anologe tuner in the magna and am happy. Been told digital you loose sound and picture if reception is average. I think I would rather it go fuzzy and still hear it than nothing at all. After all when on the move sound is more important that picture.:)

Yeah.. Once DTV signal drops below +40dB it stops showing picture and sound..

Analogue is all you need then I guess!
