Basically i told my father to charge the battery out of my first gen so i can start it and move it and he managed to reverse polarise the battery and without me knowing put it in the car. I had some smoke from the engine bay and pulled the battery straight out. Today i bought another battery slapped it in and dont have any dash lights and obviously no starting.
Im going to replace all fuses and possibly the ecu if i can find one at the wreckers. if looms are fried im thinking of just scraping it and helping my sister find something else.

could be relays too so ide go to a wreckers and grab a full set to chuck in just to try. but it shouldn't have burnt wiring as long as there wasnt a diode it could bypass which may have been possble through the alternator. may have damaged computerised things. and if worst comes to9 worst i have a full se wagon loom i just pulled out of mine that i was going to keep for spared but if it keeps another magna on the road you can have that for postage and packaging cost.
other thing will be relay box under dash.
ill have a think of anything else and let you know. is it a wagon or sedan?

i dont have auto engine loom but if its just the front loom then they should be the same. cant see why there would be any difference. i dont have a full auto loom as when i was replacing the auto loom with the manual one when i did the conversion i cracked the shits and cut it to get it out from behind the brake booster.....was about 3 am and i was very irritable by that stage lol
did you smell anything in the interior or you think that loom is still good?
cant have another first gen scrapped lol not enough on the road as it is

no didnt smell anything on the inside of the car so that might be safe ill have a go with the fuse and relay swap and ill see how i go with that if not ill be looking for a engine loom.

should be something simple. as far as i see worst thing you would do under the bonnet is fry the rectifier in the alternator but doubt you did that if you got to it quick.
ide estimate its at least 10kg worth and would need a fair sized box but shouldn't be too much to post. there is a few connectors (horn and ac pressure switch) i cut off to merge with my new loom but they shouldn't be a problem for you to rewire.
