I have 35w HIDs in my parabolics, in both low and high beam. I do a bit of highway driving, so I upgraded my headlights for better lighting, not for looks.

I'll come straight out and say I'm a little disappointed by them. I adjusted my low beam down after installation, and they're not that much better than before. High beam is a LOT better than before, but unfortunately the crappy design of the parabolic headlights means it's still not that great. Plus my brother and dad run some pretty mean lighting on their 4WDs, so I know what good lighting is like :P As I'm sure has been covered elsewhere, a HID retrofit into the parabolics means no semblance of a cut-off, the lighting is a bit patchy, etc.

My other beef is with the HID kits themselves. My kits were supposed to be 4300k. The lows are closer to 5000k, and the highs are about 6000k. I complained to my auto electrician (who supplied and installed them) and he chased up another set from a different supplier for me. He said the colour was better on them, but they was a lot of the 'flicker' to them - if you looked at the ground in front of the headlight, you could see the light moving backwards and forwards.

Not sure how many people know this, but it's another annoyance of mine. Until they're warmed up, HIDs (the cheap ones at least) take a couple of seconds to warm up. No big deal on your low beam, but it can get a bit frustrating on your high beam.

If I had my time again, I would seriously consider putting a set of Philips Xtremepower +80 bulbs and a set of relays in. Before my HIDs though, I had Philips Power2Night +50 bulbs (no relays), and while they're noticeably better than stock, they're nowhere near as powerful as my HIDs.

Been meaning to take some photos of my HIDs at night, but for now, this is what I've got:

I got some universal ones so i thought i would give them a go - http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380337196779&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

They dont work as great as the BMW, mazda etc but for the price they are incredible!

They arn't really hard to fit its just the testing and adjusting on them before you screw mount them in that takes the time. Do need a bit of patience but well worth it

All adjustment points are still accessable and the projector is mounted on the reflector itself so easy enough to adjust still
