View Full Version : audio connectors for 95 TS
Hi All,
It has been a while since I had my KS so I'm here for some questions. A workmate has a 95 Magna Exec and wants to fit a 1Din Sony/Pioneer bottom line unit with aux in so he can listen to his IPod. Anyhow, anyone knows what adapters I need to hook it up? If there are none then does anyone have the pin assignments?
He also wants to fit 6x9 in the rear shelf. Is the matting easy to cut. I am leaning towards using a sharp stanley and cut from inside the boot following the curve of the hole in the metal. Also, can 6x9s be mounted from inside the car so that it sits flush with the matting?
Finally, is it easy to pass cables to the rear?
Cheers,
Vlad

Auto barn should have an adopter for a early magna :) And the rear shelf, sounds like you have got a plan :D Failing the adopter look up audio section should already have what wires does what. Failing when I get home I will look at the manual again :D
Cheers for that. I could not get the attachment to load. Must be IE. Killed off all IE instances and now I can see the PDF.

the wire diagram was posrted about aweek ago. as for wire,s to the back i run thempast the gear lever and under the back seat .its the shortest distance and easy.
One question is, I guess his being a TS Exec with only front speakers, which aerpro adapter/connector do I need? I went to aerpro's site http://www.aerpro.com/vrg.php and it lists the following:
717011 - OEM wiring harness
AP7011 - harness adapter
APP0111 - quick connect adapter. I assume this is used in conjunction with aftermarket specific connectors like the APP8PIO for a pioneer?

My 94 TS Exec already had the wires running to the back, even though it was fitted with the standard 2 speaker system, check in the boot for the wiring first before you run them.
The plug in the back of the radio goes to another plug about 5 inched further down, if the wires are already in the back you need to use that second plug.

717011 - OEM wiring harness is just a female plug and bare ends cable. It looks like the plug you need. I find it easier just go to the shop and look what you need sometimes lol
Edit: I would use Harness Adapter AP7011 * connects to oem harness enabling connection to after market head unit and Direct Quick Connect APP8PIO * to pioneer14 pin plug :)
Colour Code:
Left Speaker: Black (+) and Black/white (-)
Right Speaker: Red (+) and Red/white (-)
Ignition Switch ACC: Blue/red
Constant 12+: Red/green
Lastly the the wire that left is not needed and is not an earth It use to be a light for the radio it green/white wire
For an a earth use the big fat yellow and black cable that join to the car body shell
OK. Tried to do it on Saturday but gave up after 3 hours. Taking it appart was easy as I did it plenty of times in my old KS. Took the unit out and found out the harness my friend bought was not the same at all. The car's end was much smaller. So we then drove in my car to 3 different places and non of them had the right one. So decided to get some crimpers to crimp the wires. Came back and I decided to cut the factory plug and proceed to crimp the cables and asked the friend to unbolt the bracket from the factory unit and bolt it up to the Pioneer DEH-3350UB. He then said that he cannot bolt the Pioneer to the bracket. Without the sleeve, there was only one screw position each side. By this time, it was getting dark so he decided that we pack everything up and take it to a mates workshop. Question is, is there a way to mount the sleeve to the bracket? Need to know this by tomorrow so that we can attempt another go instead of taking it to a shop.

Um unsure I just bolted the pioneer to the metal brackets. Failing that redrill the holes to suit the pioneer. You could bolt the seleve to the supports.
