Did you know the USDM (MMAL Export) 6G74 SOHC Diamante's contained a factory knock sensor and octane maps?
On that note, I need a factory knock sensor for a 6G74, where can I get one without importing from the states?
The knock sensor sits in the valley above the water pipe on the front of the engine (engine side, not gearbox side). It is bolted on with a bracket with 4 bolts.
This is required for an Eclipse ROM flashing project.

Yes and they also had a "Air temp sensor/M.A.P sensor" on the inlet plenum (it bolted to the raised bit with 3 "holes" on the right hand side top of the plenum near the TB, that is blanked off on our cars) on the CAL (californian) cars due to there different emission requirements in that state of the US of A.
Could you use the 3.8 type mount set-up like this.............

As above, just use one from a 3.8 as the holes in your block are there already as are the threads etc, the threads may need a bit of a clean but aside from that they are a direct bolt on
