Was just wondering what type of oil to use in my evo 5 motor in my wagon would hpr 5 semi-synthetic be suitable as its 5w-40 which ive seen is recommended when i did a search on google or everyday full synthetic of the same weight

I would definately go full synthetic. Penrite do an Everyday fully synthetic in that weight and won't break the bank

yeah i just spotted the fully synthetic not that much more in price either
It will withstand heat and high revs better than semi-syn. Although you do typically need to keep an eye on consumption with fully synthetic, it doesn't tend to be contaminated as easily therefore consumption shows up more readily

This seems pretty much solved but I would be getting onto the EvoOz and Meek forums to find out what people are using. Just remember that saying "fully synthetic" on the bottle has little to do which whether the oil is what most people recognise as fully synthetic. Look for a group IV or V oil for fully a synthetic, like Motul 8100 Xmax or Xcess, Royal purple, Motul 300V Chrono etc...
But yeah, the evo forums will have heaps of info on oils, and Chris Meek (Meek forums) is very experienced with 4g63 engines.
