Hey guys since the Aussie dollar is so strong at the moment i have been thinking. is there any major company that sell parts for Magna's or Vereda's? as in Performance parts? but i assume the similar cars would be known by a different name in America or anywhere else? can anyone tell me if there is similar models to my TL VRX? or maybe the TJ VRX as the engines are the same? if not can anyone tell me who does orders for performance parts in Queensland for the TL VRX? thanks hopefully i can score some bargains =)

Diamante - minimal overseas support as these were built in aus and exported

Eclipse uses a similar engine to our 6G72 (a lot of parts are interchangeable with the 6G74)

For cost advantage, you'd need to do big ticket items like a Vortech Supercharger - ie. http://www.rippmods.com/RIPP_Stage_2_Supercharger_System_for_06_Eclipse_GT _p/0607sdsv6-2.htm (Note RIPP "Black box" is actually a locked Perfect Power SMT6 - google how to unlock these).

With the Eclipse what kinda parts are interchangeable? I'm looking for Cams, throttle body, injectors, ecu, stall converters and so on not many major parts until i decide weather to turbo supercharge or turbocharge im still currently looking into what will be best as i heard from someone that traction can be a major issue with modifying front wheel drives but i suppose the traction control would help? i heard RPW do stage 2 cams? are these any good?

Afaik, the US Diamantes are very, very similar to the AU Veradas. However, the Japanese Diamantes had some differences regarding their engine and suspension. Some Japanese Diamantes would have found their way to NZ too.

Traction control just cuts the power until traction is regained... it's a bit of a buzzkill really lol

My suggestion would be to upgrade your suspension - at the least, a set of lowered springs, but perhaps a set of coilovers if you're serious. Chisholm had a set of coilovers in his supercharged Magna and spruiked the benefit that the stiff suspension had - he said it eliminated a fair bit of wheel spin since it prevented the back from squatting on take-off. Mind you, he had a LSD too.

Focus on handling and stopping first. Nothing worse than chucking thousands at an engine whilst the car has shitty stock brakes and suspension components.

Really good bang for buck for FWD is an LSD. I would do all this first before looking at serious engine mods

Check out this site.

Found it to be very cheap and very easy to use. Also great customer service.

I was planning on doing King super lows with Boge Shocks as i heard KYB and Munroe aren't very good quality and Koni are very decent just abit more expensive to get rather then this Boge brand and what brand of coil covers are good? i would go a decent set but not going overboard and i noticed some VRX TL Magnas came out with a LSD? can you buy these preferably new? or near new? and if so where would i go? i assume not from Mitsubishi....ill go do some research about the Coil Covers and LSD

No VRX regardless of model came with factory LSD.

Keep posted, I'm speaking with a NSW distributor of Wavetrac - I may be able to get a nice price for a Magna LSD (Hopefully somewhere around 1100-1200 with speedo gear and bearings).

I swear i saw one on car sales with one...could have misread and as for the LSD i would be highly interested as i would imagine many other AMC members would be to. are these are major difficulty to fit? my brother managed to fit a 9 inch drag diff in his kingswood? but i assume its allot different? Cheers Chris.

Would be interested in the rear wiper on my Sedan Defiantly its hard enough to see outside with my tint alone....but when its early morning weather its all fogged up so that would come in handy! how much did it set you back mate? and curious to know if the arm rests on the front seats are legal and road worthy? if they are legal would also be interested.

once yourve had a rear wiper, you never want to not have one again

but its pretty expensive to do , Im still pricing the rear screen , wiring , switch etc ( its about $1100) , or bring a complete car here and swap everything over, as the Jspec also have auto fold in mirrors etc

here is a pic of the armrests, and a few other bits

Ill look into it abit more mate. i assume your doing the wiring yourself? and how much does the arm rest setup cost? would look great in leather? and you didn't mention if these are legal to do the armrests that is. and do you require any modification plate for the rear wipers? Cheers Chris.

The Superlows are crap for handling. Go for Lows. Alternatively, Dobinsons springs are supposed to be stiffer than the Kings and Lovells.

KYBs are a good shock - I'm very happy with my set - although they aren't supposed to be as good as Boges.

I would speak to Madmagna about the Dobinsons + Boge combo... it's probably what I'd go for if I was to lower my car again.

Is there anything that can counter the crap handling for getting super lows? and as for Dobinson Springs i asked several local dealers and 9/10 did say that kings are the best i asked about Dobinsons, Lovells and most of them said they would much prefer Kings on thier cars

King or Lovell Superlows are simply too low - there's nothing you can really do about it. For example, I have Lows and my bump stops are shagged. I gave it a bit of stick through a roundabout with a smooth surface the other night and as soon as the weight shifted to the outside wheel, it bottomed out. It's awful - and the lower Superlows would only be worse. There simply isn't enough suspension travel.

You could get a stiffer custom spring made up, but if you're hell-bent on going lower than Lows, I would strongly recommend coilovers. K-Sport and Hotbits both make coilovers for Magnas, with the former seeming to have a better reputation.

Yeah i am pretty keen to make the car lower then your standard lows. i spoke to several Suspension places on the coast and they all said they would go with kings? my brother said he goes with Lovells so im having trouble deciding on the springs but certain on super lows. but i got my Shocks decided going with Boges as there apparently just as good as koni just allot cheaper to get into most places and ill look into the Coil overs i heard they are approx 1 thousand to buy? is this correct? must be such a product for a stand alone price of that....and my brother managed to fit over $5,000 worth of suspension gear on his kingswood i know the cars are ALLOT different but he seems to know what he is doing is there any major things i should know when we attempt installing the shocks springs and coil overs? and my brother hasn't done a FWD suspension upgrade before so is there anything i should tell him before we start? cheers Chris.

Superlows are strictly for looks only, if you value handling or ride comfort, I would again strongly recommend going for a set of Lows. And don't forget that Superlows are front-only with Kings.

I wouldn't have thought the Boges to be as good as the Konis.... the Boges are still a good buy, but Koni represents the best shocks imo.

Coilovers are about the $1500 mark I think. Might be closer to $2000.

They're 1950 new with camber tops from K-Sport IIRC.
