Hi guys, my 06 380 SX II have a problem. I was driving halfway in "Drive" and suddenly it switch to gear 4, then 3 and to 1 when stop. I have to switch to Tiptronic mode to upshift the gear manually when moving off from 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Now i can't drive in D anymore, only can drive in tiptronic mode. I check the transmission fluid when i reach home and it's in the full mark "Hot". Do i have to check the transmission when the engine is on or off to get a accurate reading?

Generally you check oils when their cool, check it in the morning. Sounds like more than an oil problem Im afraid.

Your selector microswitches are faulty.

When I picked my car up brand new thats what happened to mine. The salesman was very embarrased & asked if I wanted to take it then or pick it after they ordered the part & fixed it. I took it then & drove everywhere in tiptronic for a week or so.

Hopefully you are still under warranty?

oh, mine is not under warranty anymore. any idea if it's easy to fix it yourself? or need to dismantle the whole transmission to fix it?

No it is just the selector assembly. My whole assembly was replaced under warranty but if you are handy, you could probably pull it apart & replace the faulty microswitch.

I couldn't select drive at all in mine, just tiptronic.

Oh, thanks for your fast reply. I tried to reset my transmission ecu by removing the fuse, if it doesn't work, i will buy the switch and get it replace by my auto-electrician.

Either that or get the whole selector mechanism from the wreckers
