Alright guys, I'm going to be honest, I've searched up and down the internet, and I've had no success. Yes I have also searched this forum, there are guides similar but not precise.
So it all boils down to your own knowledge. Who knows, maybe this can be the first tutorial everyone who has an Elite like me available on the internet.
Anywho, I have some pictures of my progress, however I am finding difficulty in removing the plastic console. So far I have removed the screws that hold the head unit in place, but I can't remove it until I remove the console. Any ideas where more screws are to be removed, or sweet spots for me to focus on?

Have you tried removing the 2 bolts near the centre of each of those photos? the ones in line with the stereo unit.

If you're lucky, removing these will allow the entire 2x DIN (size) stereo unit to slide forwards and out.
I think unlucky would be that the black plastic surround will have to come out first. I don't think you will need to remove the entire grey centre console piece.

Good luck.
Graham.

Yeah, thanks for the reply man, I did try. I removed the two screws on each side, and the stereo came lose, however I cannot pull it out as the plastic surround does not want to come out, and I'm too scared I'll break it with force.

there might be a suport bracket behind it, as there is a bolt that come,s out the back of the unit
