I bought an ECU from a wrecker he sold the key and ignition already :S yea beats me.. but anyway he sold me the TJ I VRX ECU for a manual and i sent it to SKR to get it tuned for my TH Magna which currently has a 6g75.

I tried to start the car it wouldnt start, there was spark, fuel pump ok, so I put my factory ECU on and it started but turned off quickly coz of the tune being off... so yea i am aware now its my ECU with the problem - the immobilizer i have been told by SKR was prob not removed :S he may have forgot... So... after talking to some friends - they told me i can have a KEY made for this ecu.... That would be better than having the factory immobilzer removed and an aftermarket one put in after...my question is
Can i have the key made or do i need the ignition changed as well?
Can the immobilzer be removed by SKR or not? (ive read some places on the forum that say it cant eb removed now im confused)
Anyone have any idea on pricing for a key made if it is possible.

Im not sure if the BEM is needed, but you can go to mitsubishi and have your keys recoded
The immbolizer can be switched off but I think its only on the TH ECU's, tho I may be wrong

You can get your key recoded by Mitsubishi, Mal, or Steve. But you'll need to be at one of these places with your car to do it... :P

I don't see why you can't run the car for a little while with the TH ECU. I ran my car for months with the 3.0 ECU and the 3.5 engine. The ECU was fine adjusting the mixture by itself. It wasn't perfect but it was OK.

Another thing is, yes you can get the imob disabled in the TJ onwards ECU really easily. I wouldn't have expected Steve to remove it if he didn't know it wasn't the ECU out of your car.

Peter we can read your old immob code and flash it into your ECU, if you can get hold of can Evoscan 1.3U cable and a laptop, no problems - Ben has gone to WA for a month so can't use his :P

perhaps because i think 3.0L and 3.5 share the same compression ratio wheras the 6g75 is diff - it wasnt running it just turned on and off - if i pushed the accelerator it prb wuld have stayed on coughing but i didnt want to damage anything so i just left it - with the other ecu it was jsut cranking and cranking with no results.

Hey life - yea already have the ecu at Steve now - he is doing it - i called up Mitsu theysaid they woudl have to send the ecu with the key to Victoria and i was looking at up to $500 in costs because it was a big procedure. :S

lol fuuuu, should have told me this before i jumped on the plane/you send ecu away... i coulda nulled the immoboliser code lol

guys is there anywhere in Western Sydney that can remove the immobiliser from factory ECU for us? not sure if we want to get 2 extra keys programmed @$170 each or go with an aftermarket immob.
i do have Evoscan 2.8 but dont know exactly how to use all of its functions.

Do you have an Evoscan 1.3U or Openport 2.0 cable?
