Did a front pad change on my 95 V6 TS the other day, thought I would share the experience.

Bought new Ferodo pads $49.00 for PBR twin spot calipers. Undertook the pad replacement with no particular dramas other than sometimes difficult piston push back (had to crack bleed nipples). Rotors where in good nick only 4 odd years old no grooves, all good

2 days later had to get towed home due front RH brake locking on.

Removed both calipers for inspect, figured after 16 years probably need a reco. although could not really see any evidence of piston seizure. Dropped them down to brake shop with rotors just for good measure and had kits put through them, pistoms where ok and rotors skimmed. Bill $258
Put it all back together and bingo after test drive rh front still seizing up.
Drove to brake shop next morning on hand brake alone, that's fun in traffic. Left it with the boys who's diagnosis was a brake hose, replaced both one side $80.00.
Test drove , same problem reared it's head, Rh front locked on.
Off comes master cylinder in for hone , S/S re sleeve and kit, all back together and problem goes away. Bill $558.00

Total cost of what started as simple pad change $965.00 including tow.
The lesson learned here, not even brake experts can get it right first time and doesn't trial and error cost yah.

There must have been a build up of pressure, shame you didn't just loosen off the bleeder valve, and work out it was the master cylinder at fault, you could have fitted a new master cylinder yourself and saved yourself a fortune, easy said now I know, if I ever have the same problem I will know what to do, thanks for sharing this experiance, could save me and others $$$, cheers

Cobra 82, Pads are your basic ferodo's and they are fine. purchased from Supercheap auto. Pedal feel and travel is different since the work, even did a re bleed of all 4 brakes but did not make any difference. majordad
