Hi, i've got a 1998 magna advance. I bought it for nothing as it has panel damage to front bar and both front quarters. The car is mechanically fine and only the actual panels are damaged so i intend to change them and have a nice car.
My question is what is involved in changing over a front quarter panel? the front bar is easy enough but i'm worried the quarter panels are going to be more complicated than just unbolting and rebolting them back on.
I am getting the bar and both quarters from a car being wrecked in a couple of weeks, they are the same colour so just worried about fitting.
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers

Easy job. Done it 3 times now. lol
Remove grille. Move tabs sideways with screwdriver blade, once off rempve clips and put them back in the grille.
Remove indicators, headlights. Have a good look at the connectors as they clip on. Move headlights forward so you can see the clip mechanism, leave globes in.
Remove bumper bar. 4 large bolts, 2 10mm on each side where it joins the guards. Jack up centre of car, use axle stands, so you can crawl under the front. Torch helps.
Remove guard lights.
Remove bolts across top under the bonnet edge, two at bottom. Side trim may need to come off to get to those. Some hidden ones behind splash guard. One at door opening, more hidden underneath behind where the indicators were. 10 mm self tappers along edge of guards where they join splash guard. Lift off. A good time to wash out dead leaves in there.
Assemble in reverse, make sure guards line up with door, splash guard, bonnet when you bolt them down.
Make sure electrical wires go where they were before, fish side ones out with some fencing wire.
Tools: 10 mm socket, 14 mm socket with extension bars, and other stuff. All soft metal so don't tighten bolts too much.

Pretty much as above, just be warned, if this car has been up the bum of another car, may be bent support panel etc to look out for

Good point. Eyeball the metalwork once everything is off and compare the two sides. If its all straight the new guards should go on nice and neat, if not you may have a problem, hope not.

Thanks MadMax, sounds pretty easy. i was worried there would be rivets or welds but i know there isn't its a big relief. Will post up pics when i get the panels and give it a go.
Cheers

Also keep note it will take a couple of goes to get the alignment right. It is best to have 2 people (one to hold in place, one to do up the bolts).
